Lifekey Counseling - Mindful-Somatic Therapy for Complex Trauma: Anxiety, Shame, Stuckness

"Not until we are lost do we begin to find ourselves." ~Henry David Thoreau
One way to view early trauma (and a testament to the human drive to make meaning): a transformative passage - a separation from the person we believed we were...and a challenge to find our own knowing and being beneath the fear. Some cultures hold the view that such internal violence loosens our orientation and attachment to views that no longer serve us... From this perspective, trauma/wounding/stress/chaos initiates a process of transformation or transcendance - allowing us to come face to face with parts of self and experience previously avoided...to shed egos/identities to which we have devoted so much energy...and realize we are more content and free in their absence.
"All great changes are preceded by chaos." ~Deepak Chopra
"I tell you: one must have chaos within oneself, to give birth to a dancing star." ~Friedrich Nietzsche
"The thing about chaos is that, while it disturbs is, it too forces our hearts to roar in a way we secretly find magnificent." ~Christopher Poindexter, Remington Typewriter Poetry
"Thank you, India. Thank you, terror. Thank you, disillusionment. Thank you, frailty. Thank you, consequence. Thank you, thank you, silence." ~Alanis Morissette
